The Accommodation Unit is the department within the social services responsible for the authority's exercise regarding decisions on assistance according to the Social Services Act for housing with a housing social contract and temporary accommodation. The current position is in the reception unit that handles all incoming cases.

In this recruitment, we are looking for a permanent position and a fixed-term position for one year with the possibility of extension.

Your Assignment

The assignment includes staffing an on-call service and a telephone reception as well as investigating and making decisions about assistance for temporary emergency housing and housing social contracts.

Your work will include:

• investigating the right to emergency temporary housing
• investigating the right to housing social contracts
• staffing an on-call service where individuals turn for urgent housing assistance
• staffing a telephone reception
• collaborating externally and internally
• keeping records and exercising authority.

The operation is staffed during office hours and some remote work is offered.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another academic qualification that the employer deems relevant for the position. It is an advantage if you have training in low-arousal approaches and motivational interviewing (MI) or equivalent training in conversation methodology. The work requires good digital skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. Knowledge of Lifecare or other documentation systems is an advantage.

It is advantageous if you have experience in:

• authority work
• social work
• reception work in social services
• work with homelessness issues
• work in public service.

As a person, you are service-oriented and calm, attentive and accommodating in your interactions. You find it easy to make decisions based on available information and act accordingly. Furthermore, you are a flexible person who can see opportunities in changes. Additionally, you are a communicative person who finds it easy to listen and adapt your way of communicating.
